Event Description: Located near a marine protected area, Lung Kwu Tan (龍鼓灘) ironically faces a significant pollution problem. The combination of ocean currents and nearby heavy industries has led to serious contamination of the coastline with sewage and human waste.
During the upcoming event, volunteers will work together to clean up the accumulated rubbish along the shore. The Green Earth team will provide an introduction to Hong Kong's biodiversity and waste issues, along with guidance on rubbish categorisation and recording.
Swire Trust supports The Green Earth’s “Rethink Plastics” project, which aims to raise awareness of ocean plastic waste among the next generation through engagement and outreach programmes, thereby fostering a sustainable and environmentally conscious community.
