Event Description: Every summer, groups of terns arrive and breed on outlying islands in Hong Kong. Here is your chance to observe these fascinating terns up close during the height of their breeding season!
Sailing from south to east, the HKBWS guides will also introduce you to the terns' physical features, population, and behaviours as we cruise along the coastline. You will also learn how the seabirds are essential for marine ecosystem health.
The terns will leave Hong Kong and head south in September, so don't miss this opportunity to witness the vibrant seabird colonies this summer!
Swire Trust supports HKBWS's three-year “Re-Tern Home Safe” education and conservation project, which aims to raise public awareness and connection to nature through diverse marine and wetland educational activities, and to enhance seabird monitoring to support the increase of marine protected areas in Hong Kong.
