Capture the different kinds of climate actions and learn more about climate change through your photos! In conjunction with the SwireTHRIVE Green Series campaign hosted by the Sustainable Development Office, we’re thrilled to announce the return of our Photography Contest.
This year, the contest aims to shed light on climate actions, fostering a deeper understanding and greater awareness of their significance and impact. Showcase your photography talent by highlighting the various climate action categories (see below for examples) in our surroundings.

Photo Categories
Sustainable Mobility(1): Photos that showcase the importance and use of sustainable transportation (i.e. electric vehicles, walkable neighborhoods)
Green City(2): Photos that involve aspects of a green city, including community/urban farming (e.g. The Loop), green spaces, green/climate resilient infrastructures, and more.
Adaptation(3): Photos of adaptation features that mitigate climate change impacts (i.e. mangrove restoration, Hong Kong Wetland Park, seawall, heat shelters)
Renewable Energy: Photos that highlight the use or generation of renewable energy.
Others: Photos that are related to other climate action items/practices (i.e. veganism, waste recycling and separation practice, reforestation, climate advocacy, community-based initiatives).
(1) Sustainable Mobility refers to the provision of services and transportation for the mobility of people and goods, reducing fuel consumption and emission to reduce environmental impact, such as public transportation, walkable neighborhoods, and more.
(2) Green City is a city that is in balance with nature, with biodiversity and the ecosystem being a significant component of urban development and infrastructures. Its design, construction, and operation should prioritise nature conservation such as provision of green spaces in communities, hydroponic farms, and more.
(3) Adaptation is adjustment actions in ecological, social and economic systems, developed by countries and communities to respond to current and future climate change impacts, ranging from building flood defenses, switching to drought-resistant crops, to developing heat-adaptation policy and heat shelters.
Photo specifications
Each photo must be taken by the entrant.
The format must be either in JPEG, JPG or PNG format.
The file size must be at least 1MB, and no larger than 10MB.
The image should not have borders or a watermark.
No excessive post-processing that alters the original content of the photo.
How to submit
Each person can submit a maximum of one photograph per category in total.
Label your photo(s) accordingly in this format ‘Category_YourName’ (i.e. GreenCity_MarkCheung)
The winning employee can choose vouchers of the same value at one of the following stores: LUSH, Green Common, Slowood or GreenPrice. If the winning employee is located outside of Hong Kong, we will provide vouchers of an equivalent amount in Hong Kong dollars that can be redeemed at a local supermarket.
If the photo receiving the highest number of votes from our employees overlaps with the "Best Photo" award category, it will be excluded from this category and the award will be given to the next most voted photo.
