A Chinese New Year–Inspired Tasting Experience

This special evening features six carefully selected Austrian wines, presented alongside classic sauces commonly enjoyed during Chinese New Year—from savoury and umami-rich to sweet and aromatic. Rather than prescribing perfect pairings, guests are encouraged to mix and match wines and sauces, exploring how different combinations interact. By spotlighting the sauces themselves, the experience reveals how wine responds to flavour profiles such as soy-based richness, hoisin sweetness, sesame depth, chili heat, and tangy vinegar notes.

Guests will be guided through the tasting, discovering how Austria’s diverse grape varieties—known for their freshness, precision, and food-friendly character—can complement, contrast, and elevate these celebratory flavours in unexpected ways. This unique event is led by Master of Wine, Debra Meiburg.
